Wood
Wood is a natural product that has long enjoyed a special position because of its innate beauty. In car interiors, parts that are finished in wood
are amongst the most elegant decorative parts. Every part is different, in its graining and its characteristics, and is thus totally unique. Precious woods shimmer inside under varnish, giving any interior an air of luxury.
The Wood Division in the SELLNER GROUP is the division with the longest tradition. The company's experience in this sphere dates back to the year 1912.
The knowledge of wood species and finishes that is so deep-rooted within the company brings veneers to life when combined with a range
of different finishing processes such as bleaching and staining. These also define the colours of the decorative parts in the interior. Alongside
its knowledge of wood, the SELLNER GROUP also has expertise in related areas such as the design and building of the support elements.
Modern production processes, such as the in-house production of the plastic injection-moulded supports, operate in parallel. Finally, the component is coated in clear varnish. In this way, a high-gloss paint creates brilliance, or the authenticity of the material is emphasised by a
matt "open-pore" surface.
In the production of decorative wood elements, the world of manufacturing meets the world of industrial production.
In the SELLNER GROUP,
"old-fashioned", traditional skills and craftsmanship are matched by expertise in cutting-edge industrial processes. Innovation has also become
a tradition within the SELLNER GROUP, as evidenced by the various patents that have been registered over the last 60 years covering all
aspects of the industrialisation of wood finishing.
These have formed the basis for its mastery of a range of paint technologies using polyester and polyurethane. These skills are evident throughout the SELLNER GROUP's international network of plants throughout Europe and the USA.
